The Beatles: Listen to three unreleased versions of 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps'

The new versions will feature on a new release of The White Album.

An acoustic demo of The Beatles' classic ‘While My Guitar Gently Weeps’ from July 1968 will be one of three new versions of the song that have been officially released for the first time.

They will feature on the upcoming re-release of The Beatles, also known as The White Album, which will celebrate the classic album's 50th anniversary.

Along with a remastered version of the original double LP, the anniversary release will also include 27 early acoustic demos and 50 session takes, and will come out on November 9.

Recorded on July 25, 1968, George Harrison, who wrote the song, is heard giving out instructions and singing lines that were cut from the track’s final version, including: “I look from the wings at the play you are staging / As I’m sitting here doing nothing but ageing“.
