The Real Thing were one of the greatest soul and disco groups of the 1970s and 1980s, and they're still performing today.

Gold's David Andrews sat down with The Real Thing's Chris Amoo ahead of their ongoing UK tour.

Chris also spoke about the sad passing of his brother and Real Thing bandmate Eddie Amoo, who died last year at the age of 73.

"We were really thinking about packing it in," said Chris.

"I could never bring someone else in. It wouldn’t be The Real Thing anymore. Dave and I decided to either carry on as the original Real Thing minus a voice or bring someone else in.

"But this is what Eddy would have wanted. We’ve adapted, and the audience still love it."

The Real Thing scored many hits at the height of their fame, including 'You To Me Are Everything' and 'Can You Feel the Force?'.
