The nominations have been announced for the 2023 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Artists up for the public vote include Kate Bush, Joy Division/New Order, and The Detroit Spinners, as well as George Michael, Iron Maiden and Warren Zevon.

The Class of 2023 nominations are rounded out by Missy Elliott, The White Stripes, Sheryl Crow, Cyndi Lauper, Rage Against the Machine, Soundgarden, and A Tribe Called Quest.

The votes will be tallied and winners announced in May, with a live concert induction ceremony taking place in the autumn.

Joy Division and New Order have been nominated as a single entry, despite being two different bands, which mirrors the Hall of Fame's decision to nominate and induct The Small Faces/Faces in 2012.

"This remarkable list of Nominees reflects the diverse artists and music that the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame honours and celebrates," said John Sykes, Chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation.

"These artists have created their own sounds that have impacted generations and influenced countless others that have followed in their footsteps."

Last year's inductees included the likes of Dolly Parton, Carly Simon and Lionel Richie.
