Blondie have confirmed themselves for this year's Glastonbury Festival.

The only major act announced by the organisers so far is Elton John, who'll play the last UK show on his long-running farewell tour this summer, but Blondie's drummer Clem Burke has now revealed that his band are on the bill.

"I guess the full list of artists to be playing Glastonbury hasn’t really been announced yet," Clem told Foxy Radio.

"But we are going to be playing Glastonbury, so maybe you’ve got an exclusive there."

Blondie have already been announced for this year's Isle of Wight Festival.

They will also headline their own Dog Day Afternoon event at London’s Crystal Palace Park on July 1 with support from Iggy Pop and Generation Sex, a supergroup made up of members of the Sex Pistols and Generation X.

Blondie guitarist Chris Stein missed out on the group's last UK tour due to health issues and was replaced by former Sex Pistols bassist Glen Matlock.

In summer 2021, Blondie released the six-track live EP Blondie: Vivir en la Habana (Live from Havana) and teased the eventual release of some brand new music, which will included covers of "some obscure tracks".
