Bay City Rollers announced last month that they were re-recording their massive 'Shang-A-Lang' to celebrate Scotland's upcoming appearance at Euro 2024, as well as raising money for charity.

The group shot footage of a very special gig ahead of Scotland's pre-tournament friendly against Northern Ireland, and has now launched the video.

Video from that gig has now been combined with extra fan footage, including some very famous Faces (ahem), including none other than Rod Stewart.

Also appearing in the video are Susan Boyle, Gordon Strachan, Michelle McManus and many more Scots.

Money raised from the re-release will be donated to Cash for Kids, a charity supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged children across Scotland.

“It's the 50th anniversary which is incredible, and we wanted to celebrate in a spectacular fashion," current Roller John McLaughlin, who joined the band last year, told the Daily Record.

"From the opening chords, people seem to react with that instantly. It doesn’t make sense, but Shang-A-Lang sounds like such a Scottish word.

"The feel of the song has such a brilliant Scottishness to it. With the Scottish team being at Euros, it all adds up to make a perfect storm."

The sole "classic" Bay City Rollers member in the current lineup is Stuart 'Woody' Wood.

He plays together with McLaughlin and other newer members Ian Thomson, Jamie McGarry and Mikey Smith.

Pre-Les McKeown-era Bay City Rollers frontman Nobby Clark has been touring in recent years billed as Nobby Clark: The Forgotten Songs of the Bay City Rollers.
