Elton John has announced two additional arena shows for the UK leg of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.

The legendary singer-songwriter's goodbye tour was interrupted by COVID-19, but he has been back on the road for a while and has now added two extra dates to the jaunt.

The extra shows are at The O2 in London on May 30, 2023 and the Utilita Arena Birmingham on June 8, 2023.

These dates have slotted into the run of Elton John's previously-announced shows booked for North American and Europe.

Elton's farewell includes several concerts in the UK and Ireland that have been rescheduled several times over as a result of the pandemic and also Elton suffering a fall.

"Hello all you wonderful fans out there," Elton said in a video message when he first announced those shows.

"I'm coming to you with an announcement that I have been working towards, for well, all my life."

He added: "The shows that I announce today will be my final tour dates ever in Europe and North America.

"I'm going to go out in the biggest possible way, performing at my very best with the most spectacular production I've ever had."

In a statement, he added: "It’s time to come off the road so I can fully embrace the next important chapter of my life.

"After the tour finishes, I’m very much looking forward to closing off that chapter of my life by saying farewell to life on the road. I need to dedicate more time to raising my children."
