Elton John says goodbye to life on the road with the last UK shows on his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.

Elton John has announced the last British concerts on his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.

The legendary singer-songwriter's goodbye tour was interrupted by COVID-19, but he has this week confirmed the final shows to be played in North America and Europe, including a clutch of shows in the UK and Ireland.

"Hello all you wonderful fans out there," Elton said in a video message.

"I'm coming to you with an announcement that I have been working towards, for well, all my life."

He added: "The shows that I announce today will be my final tour dates ever in Europe and North America.

"I'm going to go out in the biggest possible way, performing at my very best with the most spectacular production I've ever had."

In a statement, he added: "It’s time to come off the road so I can fully embrace the next important chapter of my life.

"After the tour finishes, I’m very much looking forward to closing off that chapter of my life by saying farewell to life on the road. I need to dedicate more time to raising my children."
